Texas mesquite almost always has to be procured from a ranch because once it's cut and sold, it's used for barbecue fires (not that there's anything wrong with that). When you put a piece on the lathe, you just never know what's inside. Sometimes, we inlay the voids, but these were just too pretty "au naturale." Very masculine and feels good in your hand. BTW, this wood smells like rain when you turn it.
This one is 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" (Measurement does not include stand-alone stainless steel stopper.)
